Matthew Aquilone really has been an apartment stager - as well as a retail stylist, underwear showroom designer and thrift-shop window dresser. He studied painting at Vassar College and holds an MA in Fiction from NYU. His work has been published, performed and featured in The Bellingham Review, The Rumpus, Craft Literary (an Editors Choice Pick—Judge: Roxane Gay), The South Dakota Review, NEST Magazine, Cooper Hewitt Design Museum - Smithsonian Institution, The Nervous Breakdown, The New York Daily News, Tendon (Johns Hopkins Univ.), Open Doors Review, Theater for the New City, Ensemble Studio Theater and elsewhere.
He’s been a resident at the Ucross Foundation, the Edward Albee Foundation, the I-Park Foundation, the Woodstock Guild - Byrdcliffe Colony of the Arts, the Norman Mailer Center and the Cummington Community of the Arts.
